Heartdingsisters has a clear business objective to develop, produce, promote and distribute quality unique handmade products and services. These products and services have been developed over the last 3 years with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.
The Business Objectives
A key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to grow profitability. It is critical that we balance revenue growth with the growth in our cost base. Whilst the desire for profitable growth may constrain our growth rate, it is more important that revenue growth in isolation.
The Customer
Heartdingsisters has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as peoples desire for individuality. This is an issue for our selected target market of Affluent people who don't have the necessary skills to create quality items
The Value Proposition
Heartdingsisters is uniquely positioned to deliver value to affluent young people. "Heartdingsisters will design and make various items. Each made by hand using quality workmanship and materials by ourselves and a select few other artisans." We have years of experience and each of us has developed our own high standard of workmanship. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.
Competitors
We have a number of competitors within the quality unique handmade products market. We consider some of our key competitors to be: Cath Kidson. Vintage magazines. Kirsty Alsopp. . Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with companies like Cath Kidson and Kirsty Alsopp due to the fact that although their branding is about individuality, they mass produce. We will only produce a small quantity of each item.
Key Strategies
Over the next 6 months our focus will be to set up our folksy and etsy shop. Create our own site and shop tailoring different items for different markets. Start a data base of crafters willing to do events. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to continue to develop, explore different craft mediums. Continue to strive towards setting up craft events. Work with councils to use empty premises to allow other artisans to develop and grow. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.
Milestones
Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: 1000 followers of blog/ facebook. Being approached to organise craft event by a council, house/land owner. Featured by larger company in one of their magazines/articles
