Couples Timeline has a clear business objective in which couples can upload memories (photos, videos, notes) in a timeline format. These services will be developed over a 3 month time frame with a core focus on addressing the key customer needs and product design.
The Business Objectives
Key to our growth strategy, we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to launch a new product which is original and fun. Whilst our existing idea satisfies a gap in the market, we require testing and feedback from consumers to fully capitalise on our business potential. Our growth path is clearly oriented around the addition of new products, the development of these new products and the subsequent marketing of these. It is understood that costs will be associated with product development and marketing and these have been allowed for in our budget.

Couples Timeline has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our users. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as to how to appeal to the general target market. This is a critical issue for our selected target market which must deliver and be easy to use for couples of all ages.
The Value Proposition
Couples Timeline is uniquely positioned to deliver value to couples of all ages. "Couples Timeline will enable couples to create and share memories of a relationship in digital timeline format." No such product currently exists which makes this a cornerstone of our competitive advantage.
Competitors
We have a number of competitors within the Couples can upload memories in a timeline format market. We consider our key competitor to be: Facebook. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with Facebook by unique personalisation for couples.
Key Strategies
Over the next 3 months our focus will be to learn Ruby, design the webpage and iPhone app, brainstorm feature, create accounts, test the product and respond appropriately to feedback. Market research and advertising must also be carried out. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to expand and add features to the existing product. We will acquire feedback from existing users and use consumer ideas and requests to improve the service. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.
Milestones
Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: Correct design, well-planned timing and appropriate marketing and advertising.
