Life and Business Designing has a clear business objective to promote construction, real estate, oil and gas industries services. These services have been developed over 10 months with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.

The Business Objectives

When as a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to acquire new customers. Customer acquisition is considered to be the critical activity and we are seeking to grow the number of customers. We understand that customer growth could be at the expense of profitability, and that there is a cost associated with customer acquisition. Our long term objective is to build a clear customer acquisition process.

The Customer

Life and Business Designing has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem being the need for planning and strategic development projects that requires a high calibre marketer but only for an interim period of time or part time. Additionally a business that is out of start up stage and growing that needs marketing support but has an insufficient budget or is uncertain about the economy and doesn't want to commit to hiring a permanent employee. In both cases, a virtual or interim marketing person would be a favourable solution. These are critical issues for our selected target market of Marketing Director, Head of Marketing, Commercial Director, Managing Director, General Manager of businesses with 10-250 employees in construction, real estate, oil and gas industries.

We have a number of competitors within the construction, real estate, oil and gas industries market. We consider our key competitors to be: recruitment consultants, marketing creative agencies, virtual PAs and marketing individuals. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with recruitment consultants, marketing creative agencies, virtual PAs and marketing individuals through low cost benefits to the customer due to low overheads, no finders fees, no need to pay benefits or supply laptop/mobile.


Key Strategies

Over the next 6 months our focus will be to promote my business online through digital and social media and offline at at least two network events per month. I will also contact all relevant business people in LinkedIn even if they are not currently a customer. I will also actively collaborate on partner referrals. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to build an outsourced team of other virtual marketers and related service providers. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.

Milestones

Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: Obtain 1 regular customer; Achieve gross profit of £3333 pcm; Achieve gross profit of £6000 pcm
