Overview

Whitman Inc has a clear business objective to develop, produce, promote and distribute Global logistics products and services. These products and services have been developed over 3 months with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.

The Business Objectives

As a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to acquire new customers. Customer acquisition is considered to be the critical activity and we are seeking to grow the number of customers. We understand that customer growth could be at the expense of profitability, and that there is a cost associated with customer acquisition. Our long term objective is to build a clear customer acquisition process.

The Customer

Whitman Inc has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as The immediate need to streamline shipping/freight. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of Small to mid sized businesses that ship items on a regular basis.

The Value Proposition

Whitman Inc is uniquely positioned to deliver value to Small to kid sized business owners. "Whitman Inc is a strategic partner with UPS. I can offer you a list of over 50 freight carriers that I work closely with to make your shipping and and receiving much more user friendly as well save on cost for you." In order to deliver on this value proposition, we Will do the things promised to you because I am the kind of person that will never take a day off, I will always make myself available to you and keep an open line of communications to ensure that you are satisfied and take care of the day-to-day operations and needs of you the client. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.

Competitors

We have a number of competitors within the Global logistics market. We consider our key competitors to be: Fed-ex. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with Fed-ex by being able to take some of the market share away from Fed-ex by our ease of use and personal account executive attention to each and every account. We also streamline pick ups and drop offs with our real time website which greatly increases efficiency for the client .


Key Strategies

Over the next 6 months our focus will be to actively seek new buisness for as long as it takes until I have about 50 workable leads . Of those constant 50 I will win 3-4 new customers each month with attention to margin and company profitability .. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy. In 12 months I will have developed a large book of business and will be dealing with 36-48 accounts with margins on the services settling in on average about 25 percent . At this point I hope to be managing and sales force to further expand my business . These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.

Milestones

Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: Get a working pipeline of at least 50 leads by cold calling 30-40 business on any given day Turn that list of 50 leads into at least 3-4 active accounts Exceed first 90 day expectations by building a book of business that allows me to obtain the desired financial stability that my company seeks from me as well as I seek for myself and my family
