Overview

E-Hydro has a clear business objective to distribute hydroponic equipment and general grow room equipment. I am starting out with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.

The Business Objectives

As a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to acquire new customers. Customer acquisition is considered to be the critical activity and we are seeking to grow the number of customers. We understand that customer growth could be at the expense of profitability, and that there is a cost associated with customer acquisition. Our long term objective is to build a clear customer acquisition process and obviously focus on profit throughout.

The Customer

E-Hydro has been created with a clear focus on the needs of customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as lack of hydroponic shops in the area. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of gardeners.

The Value Proposition

E-Hydro will be uniquely positioned to deliver value to gardeners. "E-Hydro will provide grow room equipment at great value and give world class customer service." In order to deliver on this value proposition, I will work with wholesalers to get the best possible prices and always have promotions on in the shop to gain customer loyalty.. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.

Competitors

We have a number of competitors within the Hydroponics market. We consider our key competitors to be: Mill street hydroponics. My understanding of this competitor has been used to refine my strategy and value proposition. I believe that I can compete effectively with Mill street hydroponics by having better prices, promotions and much better customer service due to my nvq lvl 3 in sales and customer service.


Key Strategies

Over the next 6 months our focus will be to use point of sale to promote the merchandise. Advertise in my local area and put all my time and effort into making new customers. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to expand to a larger premises and having a much wider range of products on offer. In 12 months time I will have a large customer base. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.

Milestones

Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: Get shop fully stocked Obtain at least 50 new customers Have first big promotion day.
